Struisbaai
Renowned for its glorious ‘never ending’ sandy white beach and warm sea. This fishing village with a working harbour is also a popular holiday destination. The “Yellowtail festival” in March, national monuments, fishing, bird life and watersports make this village a worthwhile visit.

Bredasdorp
One of the busier towns in the district, with an abundance of shops, restaurants and accommodation. This town boasts the honour of being the first dorp (town) in the Cape. The centre of a thriving farming community, Bredasdorp has much to offer – from farms that welcome visitors, arts and crafts through to the endangered Blue Crane and Bontebok.

Swellendam
This beautiful town, nestled at the foot of the majestic Langeberg mountains, is one of the oldest in the district. It still retains much of its historic beauty due to the active interest and pride of its residents. It also has the privelege of being situated in the heart of beautiful farmlands, the Bontebok National Park and the picturesque Marloth Nature Reserve.
De Hoop Nature Reserve
This coastal nature reserve boasts 50km of conserved coastline and is one of the few marine reserves in the country. It is also the home of the endangered Bontebok, Cape Mountain Zebra, Cape Vulture and Blue crane. Visitors between June and December will have the privilage of watching the Southern Right Whales frollicking in the protected waters which they use as their annual breeding grounds. De Hoop also boasts a variety of birdlife, game, reptiles and fynbos.
Napier
This tiny village, situated just a few kilometers outside Bredasdorp, boasts a very impressive Dutch Reformed Church due to an historical dispute which resulted in two churches being built within 15km of each other! Apart from beautiful farmlands and walks, this town is fast becoming a centre for arts and crafts.
Agulhas
The Southern-most tip of Africa! A visit to the Overberg is not complete without this destination. With about 250 shipwrecks this dramatically tragic coastline makes for some interesting history. The Cape Agulhas Lighthouse and Lighthouse Museum are both highlights of the visit, while the more actively inclined visitor will enjoy the walks, swimming, fishing and diving the town has to offer.

Elim
A Moravian Mission station established in 1824, this little town remains virtually intact today. Its impressive church and still functional original clock are just two of the antiquated living monuments this town boasts. Crafts and fresh produce are among the surprises this visit to a bygone time will produce.
